You brought me flowers. Yellow tulips. They smelled like an apology. I forgave you. We had a fight about something stupid and there was no point dwelling about it.

You tried to grow irises in a garden once, but their blue lasted only for one season. I didn't know, how to take care of them.

You hated cutting the grass. You liked it to be tall, so you could lay in it and write lyrics until the dusk. Then you rolled on your back, stretched, took a cigarette out of your pocket and smoked it. It was like a prize for a work done today.

You always thought that red roses are overrated. You liked white ones more, but the purple ones were your favorite. They symbolised longing and you loved some melancholy and nostalgia.

That's why I buy them. I put the bouquet on your grave, take out the phone to take a picture of the sky like I do twice a year.

Because I still miss you.
